SR United FC was founded in March 2025 by three longtime friends — Miguel Fonseca, Erick Lucas, and Alex Oliveira — who grew up together in South River and were brought together through soccer from a young age.

After years of playing on different teams together, they began to recognize a recurring problem: too many clubs were made up of talented individuals without a true shared identity. Different personalities, different levels of commitment, and different expectations often created teams that never fully felt united.

SR United was created to be different.

From the beginning, the club was built around one word: United.

For us, that means more than simply sharing a jersey. It means creating a group of players who genuinely care about one another, who compete for each other, and who understand that the success of the team comes before individual recognition.

We believe the right culture is just as important as talent. Being a strong player matters, but so does being a selfless teammate, showing up with the right attitude, holding yourself accountable, and contributing to the standards of the group.

When a player joins SR United, we want them to feel that they have joined something meaningful — a team where people care, where relationships extend beyond the field, and where everyone is working toward the same goal.

Our identity is built on ambition, commitment, focus, professionalism, integrity, and above all, unity.

SR United is not a team that was simply put together to play games. It is a club being built intentionally, from the ground up, by people who believe things can be done the right way.

We are still at the beginning of our story, but that is what makes this project exciting.

The foundation is being built now.

And we are building it United.
